At the Council’s budget meeting your Conservative Councillors secured amendments to the Labour budget proposals.
From Saturday 3rd April residents will be able to park whilst shopping in the District Centres and Town Centres free of car parking charges (terms and conditions will apply).
This 12-month initiative is to stimulate growth into our local shops and encourage residents to support our local businesses as the economy re-opens.
The scheme will help attract residents back into our district, local and town centres. Your Conservatives want to help businesses re-open and recover successfully and understand that supporting local business means more sustainable local communities.
Commenting Councillor Linda Holt said “We have funded this important innovative boost to our shops by diverting the Brexit contingency money that was never used. I think its vital that we support our communities and reduce road trips to out-of-town shopping centres”.
