Several community pharmacies taking part in the vaccination programme are also organising their own walk-in vaccination clinics, in addition to their offering through the national booking site.
A mobile vaccination bus will be out in the borough next Thursday and Friday (8-9 July) with venues still to be confirmed.
Testing Update
During week commencing 14 June, the number of lateral flow tests carried out by staff across all sites including the mobile unit was 653 (of which 305 were taken at the Fred Perry House testing centre), which found 1 positive case.
1,849 home testing kits were given out in libraries, by the mobile unit and at Fred Perry House.
The mobile unit operating model has been updated in light of the government roadmap. The timetable is available online and can be accessed via a QR code. The mobile unit operating model carried out 142 tests.
Last week in the borough we carried out each day, on average, 1,647 PCR tests and 3,456 LFT tests.
PCR tests have a positivity of 6.9% and the LFT tests a 0.7% positivity.
Care Homes and Schools Update
Since last week there has been one new outbreak in care homes. Two outbreaks are in still progress with restrictions from previous weeks. No outbreaks are still in progress where restrictions are soon to be lifted. No care homes are out of restrictions but still waiting for official declaration. Seven care homes are on a watch list.
In the last week, there have been 103 new positive cases amongst pupils and 14 amongst staff. There have been 2,623 contacts identified.
As a reminder, an ‘outbreak’ in a setting can be as small as two linked cases. For any setting where an outbreak is suspected, whether it be a care home, a school or another workplace or setting, Public Health work with the management of that setting to undertake a risk assessment and provide advice. This includes identifying all known cases, assessing who is classed as a close contact and needs to self-isolate, supporting the setting with infection prevention control measures, and supporting any business continuity issues, or wider concerns that the setting is experiencing.
Pandemic Response Team Update
The Pandemic Response team made 168 visits to business premises last week, with 33 of those focusing on Track and Trace to check if QR codes were being taken. Eleven of the visits followed up complaints and Operation Kingfisher reports from the police, mainly around overcrowding in licensed premises and some still serving from the bar, and to check risk assessments.
Police made 74 visits last weekend, with only three premises registering as Amber, for serving at the bar or having too many tables. Having made 1,000 visits since April, Operation Kingfisher has come to an end with immediate effect.
Stockport Homes had 13 covid related complaint and Stage 1 letters have been issued.
